Why handle a negative event in the comments?

The client is a leading consumer 3D-printing brand. A product policy change upset users, and the discussion quickly spread to the comment sections of many TikTok and YouTube review and complaint videos. Buyers read those comments before purchasing, and AI answers cite those video pages.

The official statement only appeared on the brand’s own channels; questions in the original threads went unanswered.

How were the issues mapped and answered?

  • Map the issues first: complaints were grouped into three issues: firmware and cloud lock-in, third-party and local control, support and after-sales. For each, we wrote down the facts the brand confirmed and the fixes it could offer.
  • Find targets: TikTok and YouTube videos discussing the event, ranked by views and comment activity.
  • Reply one by one: under the original video, answer the specific question with facts and an official support route; no arguing, no flooding.
  • Approval and records: reply drafts were ticked by the brand first; each reply was re-checked twice after posting, with a link and screenshot.

Volume and how to check it

5000+comment replies
600+video targets
2platforms: TikTok, YouTube
3issue groups

Every reply is in the ledger: platform, video link, reply text, time posted, two re-check results and a screenshot, each one clickable. The issue list was updated in the weekly report; new questions went into the next week’s drafts.

Comment ranking, likes and where the discussion goes are decided by platforms and users and are recorded as observations, not promises.

FAQ

Why not just publish an official statement?

Buyers and AI see the discussion in the original video comments. Facts given where the question was asked are the ones that get seen.

Won’t the replies look like comment spam?

Each reply answers a specific question, is approved first, follows platform rules and is posted from long-running genuine accounts; no copy-paste and no flooding a single video.
