I founded Beijing Pocket AIGC Technology Co., Ltd. Everything we build and deliver runs under the name MaxGrowth.
One job: when a buyer asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Chinese assistants like Doubao and DeepSeek which brand is worth buying, make sure your brand shows up in the answer. The field is called GEO (Generative Engine Optimization). In practice it means making a brand into something AI is willing to cite.
Most of our clients are Chinese brands going global — gaming, automotive, consumer hardware, cross-border e-commerce, B2B SaaS. We also run community reputation work (Reddit and similar) and long-term social comment operations, because a large share of what AI says about a brand is learned from exactly those places.
What do I actually believe about GEO?
Why do most GEO programs fail?
Not from too little content — from never defining which questions they want to win. Decide the questions first, then decide the volume. Reverse that order and no budget will save you.
How should GEO results be measured?
By mentions and position inside AI answers, not impressions or pageviews. The old metrics quietly break in AI search — nobody clicks through; the user reads the answer and leaves. The only question that matters: when AI answers this, are you in it, and where?
Which brands should not do GEO?
Categories too crowded to enter at any price, and brands whose buyers don't decide inside AI. In both cases I say so up front — better than taking the money and missing.
